Stage 1 Fire Restrictions enacted

Effective beginning 12:01 a.m. Friday, June 12, 2026, until further notice. These restrictions apply to all private land and BLM managed public lands within the boundaries of the Grand Junction Field Office. For more information visit the Fire Restrictions webpage.

Mesa County Public Health (MCPH) has been made aware of a voluntary recall from Gerber Products Company involving teething sticks. The products are being recalled due to a potential choking hazard for babies and young children. The products were distributed nationwide and may have been sold in Mesa County. 

 

Description of recalled products

  • Gerber Snacks for Baby soothe ‘n’ chew Teething Sticks, Strawberry Apple, Net Wt 3.2 Oz, with UPC 0 15000 04618 7
  • Gerber Snacks for Baby soothe ‘n’ chew Teething Sticks, Banana, Net Wt 3.2 Oz, with UPC 0 15000 04608 8
  • Gerber Snacks for Baby soothe ‘n’ chew Teething Sticks, Banana, Net Wt 1.58 Oz, with UPC 0 15000 01015 7

What consumers should do

  • There are reports of the products still being sold at retail stores and online.
  • Consumers should check their pantries for any of the recalled items.
  • Throw them out or take them to the store where it was purchased for a full refund. 
  • Contact your doctor if you have any health concerns after consuming the product.
  • Call Gerber at 800-443-7237 with any questions about the recalled products.
