Grand Valley Transit benefits from oil and gas revenue

A new Grand Valley Transit (GVT) route will stay in operation thanks to fees collected by the state of Colorado on oil and gas extraction. Those funds will also be used to purchase a new bus for the GVT fleet.

County commissioners approved $2.1 million in purchase orders to replace vehicles and equipment needed for work across Mesa County. A total of 21 pieces of equipment met the requirements to be replaced this year.

Commissioners approve amended county budget

At the Tuesday, June 30 public hearing the Board of County Commissioners approved a resolution to adopt changes to the Mesa County budget. This supplemental budget is a tool used to update the budget throughout the year as grants are awarded, donations are received and department needs change.
