Stage 1 Fire Restrictions enacted

Effective beginning 12:01 a.m. Friday, June 12, 2026, until further notice. These restrictions apply to all private land and BLM managed public lands within the boundaries of the Grand Junction Field Office. For more information visit the Fire Restrictions webpage.

Nine pets were adopted last weekend through the Mesa County Animal Services (MCAS) Pup-kin Patch Adoption Special at the shelter, 971A Coffman Road in Whitewater, and we are over the moon to see those sweet animals in their forever homes!

The event was kicked off on Halloween with treats, some great costumes from Animal Services staff, reduced adoption fees and community members stopping in to see which animal was their perfect match.

Even though the Pup-kin Patch Adoption Special is complete, there are still many great dogs and cats (and a very handsome rooster) at the MCAS shelter looking to get cozy this holiday season with their new family.

Come take a look and see which amazing pet you can’t go home without.

Hours:

Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

MCAS location:

971A Coffman Road in Whitewater
