Sharpen your knowledge on code compliance at free trainings May 13 and 14
Are you a builder, contractor, inspector or architect in Mesa County looking to enhance your knowledge of best building practices and stay up to date on current codes?
The Mesa County Building Department is offering two free training sessions on the latest updates to residential and commercial building codes from 7 to 9 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13, and Wednesday, May 14, at the Mesa County Fairgrounds, 2785 U.S. Highway 50 in Grand Junction. The sessions will cover information on Mesa County amendments, the 2024 International Building Code (IBC), the 2024 International Residential Code (IRC), the 2021 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC), and Colorado's Model Electric and Solar Ready Codes.

Commercial Code Training
When: 7 to 9 a.m. on Wednesday, May 14
Where: Mesa County Fairgrounds, 2785 U.S. Highway 50 in Grand Junction
The trainings will help attendees:
• Understand key changes to the 2024 IRC
• Navigate the 2021 IECC energy efficiency requirements
• Prepare for electrical requirements and solar-ready provisions
under Colorado's model codes
• Apply Mesa County-specific code amendments effectively
