Mesa County Commissioner Bobbie Daniel was elected to the National Association of Counties Public Lands committee as a travel delegate from Colorado Counties Inc. (CCI) on Jan. 31, 2025, which allows her the opportunity to strengthen relationships among state, federal, and local governments and improve public lands policies with respect to local governments and impacts for residents.

As a travel delegate on the committee, Commissioner Daniel will engage Colorado interests on public land policy, wildfire mitigation, multi-use, and Payment In Lieu of Taxes (PILT).

“Mesa County is a county that boasts approximately 74% of public lands. These lands include expansive tracts managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), U.S. Forest Service, and other federal and state entities,” said Commissioner Bobbie Daniel. “As a public lands delegate, I will prioritize Mesa County and Colorado Counties’ voices in policies that affect these lands and the livelihoods connected to them.”

Commissioner Daniel’s term on the committee expires in 2026.
