Davis named 2025 Chair of the Mesa County Board of Commissioners
During the Board of Mesa County Commissioners’ administrative hearing on Jan. 14, 2025, Commissioner Cody Davis was unanimously elected as the 2025 Chair of the Board. Commissioner Davis succeeds Commissioner Bobbie Daniel, who served as Chair in 2024.
“As we embark into a new year, I am honored to serve as Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners,” said Cody Davis, Chair of the Board of Mesa County Commissioners. “Together with my colleagues, I am committed to driving initiatives that empower our community, ignite innovation, and lay the foundation for a thriving and prosperous Mesa County.”
The position of Chair rotates annually among Board members, as is customary, and comes with critical responsibilities. The Chair presides over all Board meetings, signs official County orders, and represents the County in various capacities. By law, this official has the right and the duty to vote on all questions before the Board unless excused by a standing rule of the Board or other Board members’ consent.

- Building Advisory Group (BAC)
- Chair, Mesa County Board of Commissioners
- Colorado Counties, Inc. (CCI) General Government; Tourism, Resorts & Economic
- Grand Junction Regional Airport Authority
- Grand Junction Regional Air Service Alliance
- Grand Valley Regional Transportation Committee (GVRTC)
- Legislative Representative (authorized to sign letters representing BOCC)
