No Burn Advisory

Mesa County Public Health has issued a No Burn Advisory from Saturday, June 6 at 7 a.m. until Monday, June 15 at 9 p.m. due to fire danger. Burning of any kind, including agricultural burning, is not allowed during this advisory period. Check conditions on our Air Quality webpage.

The Board of Mesa County Commissioners unanimously approved the PRO2024-0022 TXT Land Development Code Amendment at their April 23 public hearing to include rules and regulations pertaining to solar production.

The amendment comes after the commissioners approved a resolution on Jan. 9 imposing a temporary moratorium on the submission, acceptance, processing, and approval of any new land use or business that engages in or operates as a commercial solar farm to give County departments and staff proper time to evaluate regulatory frameworks and community input.

We extend our appreciation to the community members who dedicated their time and efforts to help us ensure a balanced foundational approach to solar production in Mesa County. Your contribution has been invaluable.
