Adopting a child is a life-changing experience, and preparation is key to ensuring a smooth transition for the child and the family. Mesa County Department of Human Services (MCDHS) offers adoption training to provide certified foster and kinship families with the information they need before taking the next step.

The goal of this training is to help families gain an understanding of the emotional, behavioral, and other special needs children may have as a result of abuse or neglect, the impact this may have on the adoptive family, as well as potential strategies that can be utilized to address issues that may arise.

This training covers:

  • Legal process
  • Requirements for adoption
  • Available services
  • Core adoption issues

MCDHS is committed to helping families experience and maintain successful adoptions. For more information, visit www.FosterAdoptMesaCounty.org or call 970-609-KIDZ
