Learn more about the adoption process
Are you interested in adoption? If a family is interested in adopting a child through Mesa County Department of Human Services, they must become a certified foster or kinship care home.
Requirements for certification include:
- Initial Training
- Completing background clearances
- Safe Home Study
When a family is chosen as the concurrent family for a child, they’ll receive support and services from both the placement resource manager and the ongoing case manager.
If the child becomes legally free for adoption, a permanency planning case manager will help guide the family through the adoption process.
This includes sharing the child’s history and any special needs, connecting them with services, and determining if they qualify for financial or post-adoption support. All of these steps ensure children have a smooth transition into their forever home.
Together, we can create a brighter future for children in need. If you're interested in adoption, contact us today to start your journey!
