No Burn Advisory

Mesa County Public Health has issued a No Burn Advisory from Saturday, June 6 at 7 a.m. until Tuesday, June 9 at 9 p.m. due to fire danger. Burning of any kind, including agricultural burning, is not allowed during this advisory period. Check conditions on our Air Quality webpage.

The Board of Mesa County Commissioners approved a $100,000 increase in the County’s contract for Japanese beetle eradication services at their Sept. 2 public hearing, enabling us to offer all properties within 200 meters of a new trap location free Acelepryn treatment.

Mesa County will notify property owners who are eligible for the treatments.

Although trap numbers have decreased since our first year of Japanese beetle eradication, we have observed beetles moving outside our treatment area.

This contract amendment will allow us to expand our robust Japanese beetle eradication efforts.
