Clifton Nature Park Disc Golf Course to close for herbicide treatments
The Ponds Disc Golf Course at Clifton Nature Park will be closed from Monday, Oct. 20, through Thursday, Oct. 23, for scheduled herbicide treatments targeting invasive plant species.
During this time, Mesa County’s Noxious Weed and Pest Management team will apply foliar herbicide treatments to control Russian knapweed, Perennial pepperweed, Whitetop, and Tamarisk regrowth.
To protect public health and safety, the site will be closed while treatments are underway. According to herbicide label requirements, the public may re-enter the area once the product has fully dried.
Signage will be posted at park entrances and along the disc golf course notifying visitors of the temporary closure. The County asks residents to respect all closure signs and avoid the area until the course reopens on Friday, Oct. 24.
Mesa County appreciates the community’s cooperation as staff work to restore and maintain the health of local natural areas.
