New mental health campaign helps Mesa County residents
A new campaign called Find the Right Fit is helping Mesa County residents connect with mental health care that meets their specific needs.
“Life can be stressful, overwhelming, and complicated—but you don’t have to navigate it alone. There are a lot of different types of mental health care, and it’s not one-size-fits-all,” said Alli Howe, Chief Health Strategist at Mesa County Public Health. “Whether you’re in crisis, looking for support, or just feeling off and unsure where to start, this site helps you figure out what’s right for you.”
The new website, findtherightfit.org, is an easy-to-use resource that was launched through community collaboration. Individuals can explore local mental health services and find the care that fits them best.
The site allows users to:
- Read real-life scenarios and choose the one that most closely matches how they’re feeling.
- Learn about different types of mental health care, from talk therapy to peer support to crisis services.
- Access a directory of local providers and services.
Resources are available in English and Spanish, and the campaign encourages people of all backgrounds and ages to explore their options.
Goals of the campaign
This initiative was developed as a result of the Mesa County Community Behavioral Health Summit, where participants identified the need to improve awareness of the mental health care continuum in our region. The immediate goal is to increase community understanding of the many different levels and types of care.
“Knowing your options—and that you have options—is powerful,” said Howe. “The goal is to reduce stigma, simplify the search, and help people take that next step.”
