No measles cases confirmed in Mesa County, Public Health fully prepared to respond
Mesa County Situation
We received notification about a suspected case of measles. Our Disease Surveillance team investigated and a laboratory test ruled out measles. As of April 11th, there are no confirmed cases of measles in Mesa County. Mesa County Public Health (MCPH) will notify the community if there is a confirmed case of measles.
Local capacity
Our team has been preparing for a potential measles response. We are fully prepared to act quickly if a case is confirmed in our community. MCPH employees, including disease surveillance, clinical, and emergency response staff, completed 1,200 hours of emergency preparedness response training in 2024.
Information about getting the MMR vaccine
The best protection against measles is the measles-mumps-rubella, or MMR, vaccine. The MMR vaccine available in our Public Health Clinic. We are priority scheduling for anyone wanting the MMR vaccine. Call us 970-248-6906.
