Mesa County approves design funding for Grand Junction Mobility Hub
Mesa County Commissioners recently approved a $166,667 agreement with the State of Colorado to support the design of the Grand Junction Mobility Hub.
The project will complete the design phase for a new multimodal transportation facility intended to improve transit access, enhance the rider experience and strengthen regional connections in and around Grand Junction.
The Mobility Hub is planned as a centralized location that brings multiple transportation options together in one place. The goal is to make it easier for residents and visitors to connect between services such as local transit, regional transportation and other mobility options.
Under the agreement:
- Mesa County and the City of Grand Junction will each contribute $166,667 toward the design cost
- The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will manage the design process
- CDOT will oversee consultant support to complete the design work
This partnership allows Mesa County to leverage state expertise while advancing a project that supports local and regional transportation needs.
This agreement funds design work only. Future steps, including construction, will be considered separately once the design phase is complete.
Mesa County continues to work with state and regional partners to improve transportation options, support mobility and plan for future growth in a coordinated and fiscally responsible way.
