The Board of Mesa County Commissioners unanimously approved the 2024 Mesa County Highway Users Tax Fund (HUTF) Report after a project briefing from the County Deputy Road Supervisor during the Jan. 14 public hearing

The Highway Users Tax Fund Report is the proper format for the County to present our road network size to the Colorado Department of Transportation yearly to secure funding to support road and bridge maintenance the following year.

Mesa County calculates its road network in lane miles, which measure the total length of a road multiplied by the number of lanes. The 2024 HUTF report states that the County’s road network is approximately 2,908 lane miles (paved and unpaved), an increase of 0.13 from last year.

Mesa County values every source of funding that allows us to further improve transportation for our residents.
