New dashboard helps residents understand and improve road safety
Crashes on Mesa County roads real people every day. Some are minor. Some change lives in an instant.
Mesa County is making crash data easier to understand and use.
The Mesa County Regional Transportation Planning Office has launched a Crash Data Dashboard, a new tool that brings together crash information from multiple agencies into one place.
The dashboard helps identify where and how crashes are happening across the county.
The information supports decisions about safety improvements, from roadway design to targeted education and enforcement efforts. It also gives residents direct access to the same data.
The dashboard allows users to:
- Explore crash trends in specific areas
- Filter data based on how they travel — driving, biking, walking or rolling
- Better understand risks on roads they use every day
- Stay informed and to help improve safety
Crash data is not just numbers. It reflects real experiences on local roads.
When data is clear and accessible, it helps everyone make better decisions — from planners and engineers to the people using the roads each day.
Safety is shared. Small choices, like slowing down, staying alert and watching for others, can help prevent crashes and protect lives.
