When you visit the Mesa County Landfill, make sure you remove any metal or other prohibited waste before dropping off your load.

Prohibited waste:

  • Liquid waste
  • Universal waste, such as fluorescent light bulbs, batteries, and electronic waste
  • Appliances containing refrigerants, such as freon, propane, and ammonia
  • Special waste not approved by the Regulatory Compliance Manager

If you have metal that needs to be recycled, don’t worry, the Mesa County Landfill will handle that for you, as long as it’s separated from your other trash.
