Crisp mornings, colorful trees and crunchy piles of leaves, it’s fall in Mesa County! 🍂 While leaf piles are perfect for jumping into, they’re even better when composted.

After you’ve had your fun, bag up those leaves and bring them to the Mesa County Organic Materials Composting Facility, located at 3071 U.S. Highway 50.

We accept:

  • Leaves
  • Tree limbs
  • Grass clippings, weeds, hay
  • Animal bedding and manure
  • Hedge trimmings

Drop-off hours: Wednesday through Saturday, 8 a.m. – 4:15 p.m.

Composting is nature’s way of recycling, turning yard waste into nutrient-rich soil that helps new plants thrive. Mesa County uses specialized equipment to speed up this natural process, producing Mesa Magic Compost, a high-quality, affordable soil amendment perfect for your garden and lawn.

Adding compost this season helps:

  • Insulate roots through winter
  • Retain moisture from winter precipitation
  • Enrich your soil for a lush spring

Once you’ve dropped off your yard waste, don’t forget to stock up on Mesa Magic compost. Give your garden a head start and your soil the refresh it deserves!
