The Mesa County Tax Lien Auction Site is open for registration
The tax lien sale publications for real estate and mineral accounts will begin on Sept. 20, 2025. Mesa County will host its annual Tax Lien Sale online starting Monday, Sept. 22, 2025, and ending Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2025. The County’s tax lien auction site opens to bidders on Sept. 22, 2025.
The tax lien auction will begin at 8 a.m. on Oct. 22, with the final batch starting at 1 p.m. Any unsold liens will run in an auxiliary batch at 3 p.m. on Oct. 22.
Participants must meet the requirements (registration and deposit) by noon on Oct. 10, 2025. All payments and redemptions are required via Automated Clearing House (ACH).
When property owners fail to pay delinquent taxes during a specified period of time, Mesa County can sell a tax certificate to investors to collect the delinquent taxes.
This process enables Mesa County to recover from delinquent tax revenue quickly, adhere to its estimated budget projections and provide essential services to our community — while offering an investment opportunity to citizens.
Tax lien sales are held pursuant to Colorado law each fall.
The delinquent taxes for personal property will be published on Sept. 13, 2025, and are not eligible for purchase in the tax lien sale.
