Stage 1 Fire Restrictions enacted

Effective beginning 12:01 a.m. Friday, June 12, 2026, until further notice. These restrictions apply to all private land and BLM managed public lands within the boundaries of the Grand Junction Field Office. For more information visit the Fire Restrictions webpage.

At noon on the third Thursday of every month, the Mesa County Department of Human Services (MCDHS) conducts an interview on relevant topics as part of the KAFM Community Affairs program.

The latest episode features Jeana Brown, Employment Specialist and Disability Program Navigator with the Mesa County Workforce Center (MCWFC), who joined host Jesse Baalman to discuss National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) and this year’s theme: “Access to Good Jobs for All.”

Jeana explains how she supports job seekers with disabilities through resume help, interview preparation and connection to resources like the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation. She also shares how local employers can benefit from inclusive hiring practices and educational workshops hosted by the Workforce Center.
