The Mesa County Workforce Center (MCWFC), 512 29 ½ Road, celebrates National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) throughout October. This is a time to recognize the many contributions of America’s workers with disabilities and to promote inclusive, equitable workplaces for all.

In honor of this awareness month, the MCWFC is teaming up with the Colorado Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) to host a special workshop for local employers. Both sessions take place at our building on Thursday, Oct. 23.

Disability awareness and etiquette training for employers:

  • Morning Session: 10 a.m.
  • Afternoon Session: 1 p.m.

The workshop, led by Mesa County’s Disability Program Navigator Jeana Brown, will explore best practices for supporting employees and job seekers with disabilities. Attendees will learn how to create welcoming work environments, improve communication, and strengthen inclusive hiring efforts.

Whether you’re an HR professional, manager, or small business owner, this training will offer practical tools and insights that help make your workplace more inclusive and accessible to all.

Let’s celebrate value, talent, and the strength of inclusive workplaces!
