Motor Vehicle Department

The Colorado DMV is completing a required, statewide system upgrade in February 2026 to modernize vehicle services. This upgrade will modernize online services and improve security, accessibility, and overall customer experience.

Online and in-person Motor Vehicle services and MV Express kiosks will be temporarily unavailable during this upgrade:

Saturday, February 14 - all online and kiosk services unavailable
Sunday, February 15 - all online and kiosk services unavailable
Monday, February 16 - all online and kiosk services unavailable; all offices closed for Presidents' Day
Tuesday, February 17 - all online and kiosk services available; all offices closed for staff training and final system checks
Wednesday, February 18 - all online and kiosk services available; our downtown office at 200 S Spruce St in Grand Junction will be open by appointment only. Our Clifton and Fruita offices will be closed.
Thursday, February 19 and Friday, February 20 - all online and kiosk services available; all offices open and back to their regular business hours.

Plan ahead for this transition and get into our offices early to avoid any delays or long wait times in office.

Our department provides information and services for persons with disability parking placards, title and/ or registering motor vehicles, off highway vehicles, special mobile machinery, and manufactured homes.
