Know your government

Throughout the program, you'll have the opportunity to interact with county departments and engage with elected officials and other county experts who have a deep understanding of how your local government operates. These interactive presentations will help you better understand the critical issues facing your community and the challenges and opportunities that local government faces.

In addition to the presentations, Inside Mesa County also offers engaging tours of various government facilities, giving you a behind-the-scenes look at how things operate.

About Participation

Inside Mesa County is designed to be interactive and discussion-based, giving participants the opportunity to ask questions and engage directly with county leadership and staff. To support meaningful conversation, class size is limited to approximately 30 participants.

Due to limited space, not all applicants will be selected for each session.

Participants are selected based on:

  • Interest in learning about county government and engaging in the community
  • Ability to attend and participate consistently throughout the program
  • Willingness to apply what you learn in the community

Participants are expected to attend regularly and be actively engaged throughout the program.

There is no cost to attend, and references are not required as part of the application.

Many participants go on to serve on local boards and commissions, run for public office, or become more involved in our community.
