As of July 1, 2026, Mesa County will begin enforcing the 2025 Colorado Wildfire Resiliency Code. This is a state minimum code applying to new construction and significant exterior alterations and additions within the Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI). Any and all information on this page is subject to change between 3/16/2026 and implementation on 7/1/2026.

Please check the Mesa County VIS Map, click the layers button, click districts and then click fire to see which fire district you are located in. If you are located in the Grand Junction/ Grand Junction Rural, Lower Valley, Mesa County Fire Authority or Palisade districts, please contact them for additional information. All other districts will be handled by the Mesa County Building Department.
