As of July 1, 2026, Mesa County will begin enforcing the 2025 Colorado Wildfire Resiliency Code. This is a state minimum code applying to new construction and significant exterior alterations and additions within the Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI). Any and all information on this page is subject to change between 3/16/2026 and implementation on 7/1/2026.

If you are located in the Grand Junction/ Grand Junction Rural, Lower Valley, Mesa County Fire Authority or Palisade districts, please contact them for additional information. All other districts will be handled by the Mesa County Building Department.
