Residents, you are invited to attend an informal public meeting in person or via Zoom to discuss Ordinance 16, a proposed ordinance restricting travel in designated Mesa County areas by certain vehicles, on Tuesday, Jan. 16, at the Old Courthouse, 544 Rood Ave. in Grand Junction.

Recycle your Christmas tree for free

The Mesa County Organic Materials Composting Facility, 3071 Highway 50, offers to recycle your Christmas tree for free after Christmas day through January. You can head to the composting facility Wednesday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., to recycle your tree. Your tree will get processed into compost, ready to support a whole new purpose.
