Mesa County Public Health has issued a No Burn Advisory from Saturday, June 6 at 7 a.m. until Tuesday, June 9 at 9 p.m. due to fire danger. Burning of any kind, including agricultural burning, is not allowed during this advisory period. Check conditions on our Air Quality webpage.

Residents are advised to look out for leafy spurge noxious weed

Our Noxious Weed Department is advising residents to look out for leafy spurge (Euphorbia esula), a noxious weed that is native to Eurasia and has become widespread in North America. If you encounter leafy spurge, please report it to Mesa County Noxious Weed and Pest Management at weed.pest@mesacounty.us or call 970-255-7121. Mesa County Noxious Weed and Pest Management offers private property owners free management assistance with this noxious weed.

Commissioners approve amendments to Mesa County’s 2025 budget

During the Board of Mesa County Commissioners' July 8 public hearing, they approved two resolutions — one to amend the Mesa County Fiscal Year 2025 Budget and another to amend the authorized staffing level for Mesa County. Amendments to the budget include recognizing new revenues and authorizing appropriations based on new information not anticipated in the adopted 2025 budget.
