At the Nov. 19 public hearing, Mesa County Criminal Justice Services Director Matt Lewis gave an in-depth update to the Board of Mesa County Commissioners and our community about the vital work his department does to keep Mesa County safe and thriving.

Mesa County Public Health (MCPH) has been made aware of a recall involving approximately 167,277 pounds of ground beef products from Wolverine Packing Co.

During their Nov. 19 public hearing, the Mesa County Commissioners unanimously approved a $124,103 contract with Conner Constructors LLC to remodel the medication and nursing area at Mesa County Criminal Justice Services’ Powell Building.

At the Nov. 19 administrative public hearing, the Board of Commissioners approved a resolution supporting legislation to amend C.R.S. § 30-2-102 to reclassify Mesa County as a Category I-A County for purposes of establishing the salaries of County elected officials. Before approval, the Board received a detailed presentation from the 21st Judicial District Attorney Dan Rubinstein explaining the need for the resolution.

Work to enhance roadways near 32 ½ Road and the Clifton Campus will begin Dec. 2. The project includes upgrades to three key areas, improving traffic flow and safety for residents.
