Mesa County Public Health has issued a No Burn Advisory from Saturday, June 6 at 7 a.m. until Tuesday, June 9 at 9 p.m. due to fire danger. Burning of any kind, including agricultural burning, is not allowed during this advisory period. Check conditions on our Air Quality webpage.

Bureau of Reclamation Announces $40 Million Funding Award for Shoshone Water Rights Preservation Project

On Friday, Jan. 17, the Bureau of Reclamation announced $388.3 million in funding awards including $40 million for the Shoshone Water Rights Preservation project. This investment supports efforts of the Colorado River District, the state of Colorado and a coalition of West Slope governments and water users to secure Western Colorado’s top water priority: the permanent protection of the water rights associated with the Shoshone Power Plant in Glenwood Canyon.

The Rosevale Road flood reduction project public meeting is today

Our Public Works Division and the project contractor will host a public meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 21, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Mesa County Central Services, 200 S. Spruce St., in the Main Conference Room, to answer questions about the Rosevale Road flood reduction project for residents in the affected area. Please enter the meeting through the east entrance of the building.
